Show - Cabaret de l'exil : Femmes Persanes

Cultural ,  Show in Aubervilliers
From :  36 Full-fare
  • Conceived and directed by Bartabas At the Fort d'Aubervilliers. For the third part of his "Cabaret de l'exil", Bartabas pays tribute to Persian women.

  • Whether Afghan or Iranian, they are also artists in exile. Resistant and rebellious, they assert their identity and summon up their ancestral memory, that of the ancient Scythian civilisation founded on matriarchy. Whether Afghan or Iranian, they are also artists in exile. Resistant and rebellious, they assert their identity and summon up their ancestral memory, that of the ancient Scythian civilisation founded on matriarchy. For this nomadic people, the horse was the source of remarkable gender equality; riding long distances and encouraging their mounts into battle was the prerogative of women as much as men, as was the practice of the arts.
For the occasion, Bartabas has invited Iranian artists - musicians, singers and dancers - to join his tribe of half-women, half-horsewomen, and to give voice, through the voices of famous and anonymous poetesses, to the song of a Persian woman freed from her mystical attributes and asserting her right to passionate love.

An invitation to travel, to be discovered over a drink at the Fort d'Aubervilliers in the ever-reinvented Zingaro equestrian theatre.
