Cathedral Basilica of Saint Denis

The Saint-Denis Basilica Cathedral is the first monumental masterpiece founder of Gothic art in the twelfth century.

Built on the tomb of Saint Denis, martyred by the Romans in the third century, the basilica of Saint-Denis is the first monumental testimony of Gothic art. Then, as a royal abbey, she lit art history, political and spiritual Middle Ages. It became one of the main cemeteries of the Merovingian and Carolingian rulers aristocrats, it definitely ties its fate to that of royalty under the Capetians by becoming the burial place of the kings of France.

- Masks mandatory from 11 years old (this is the case for the church too).
- Mandatory taking of time-stamped tickets on the CMN website http://saint-denis.monuments-nationaux.fr/
- Hydroalcoholic gel available at reception
- Groups limited to 9 people plus the guide: free tickets or not to take on the site to be in the gauge
- Adapted visit circuit: physical distance with respect for the stickers on the ground near the tombs and in the crypt
