The wealth of objects on offer, often "in their original state", has made this market a trendy place, where many stars come to stroll when creators and designers come looking for inspiration.

Did you know? Woody Allen filmed some scenes from his 2010 film Midnight in Paris here.

The Marché Serpette was a former car garage, transformed into a market in the 1970s. Its top-of-the-range wares and cosy atmosphere make it a favourite with foreign tourists as well as decorators and professionals. Its covered aisles are brimming with quality restored antiques: nineteenth- and twentieth-century furniture, old and modern paintings, travel trunks, jewellery, etc.
